We answer to you, not the insurer
An independent broker licensed by the Insurance Regulatory Unit. We hold no agency for any company, so the cover we recommend is chosen on your risk and nothing else.
Insurance is bought on one day and tested on another, sometimes years apart. Most of the trouble we see in Kuwait comes out of that gap: a policy that looked fine at renewal turns out to exclude the one thing that actually went wrong. Our work is to close that gap before it opens.
What a broker actually does
An insurance company represents itself. We represent you. Overseas Assurance Brokers has worked as an independent broker in Kuwait since 1989, licensed and supervised by the Insurance Regulatory Unit, and we place business with around 27 Kuwaiti and regional insurers across 16 classes of business. We are paid a commission by whichever insurer ends up issuing the policy, so our advice costs you nothing beyond the premium you would be paying anyway.
How a file moves through our office
- Enquiry. We ask what you own, operate or owe, and what a bad month would look like for you. That becomes the brief.
- Market comparison. We approach the insurers whose appetite fits the risk and read the quotations against each other: wordings, exclusions, deductibles, sub-limits, warranties and claim conditions, not price alone.
- Placement. We explain the shortlist in plain terms, you decide, and we handle the paperwork, the endorsements and the certificates.
- Claim. You call us, not the insurer. We notify, assemble the documents, deal with the loss adjuster and follow the file until it is settled.
What independence means in practice
No insurer owns us and nobody gives us a quota to fill. If the cheaper policy is written badly, we say so. If the widest cover is not worth the difference for your exposure, we say that too. When a claim is moving slowly, or is declined on a reading of the wording we think is wrong, we argue it, because the client is the party we answer to.
Individuals and companies
The same office looks after a household motor policy and designs a construction or property programme with several insurers on it. Anyone can be under-insured, and the fix is the same in both cases: find out what the exposure really is, then buy against it. Your policies, schedules, certificates and claim updates sit in our online portal, so you are not searching an old inbox for a document at the moment somebody asks for it.
Cover that fits the risk
From a single car to a construction programme — we place it with the insurer that writes it best.
Why clients stay
We are not tied to any insurer. Our recommendation follows your risk, never a sales target.
View allIndependent of every insurer
We hold no agency for any company and no shareholder directs where we place business, so the policy we put in front of you is one we would take ourselves.
Compared on wording, then price
Quotations are read side by side for exclusions, deductibles, sub-limits, warranties and claim conditions. The premium is the last column we look at, not the first.
Claims argued on your behalf
You notify us and we notify the insurer, gather the documents, meet the loss adjuster and follow the file. You are never left explaining your own policy to the company.
One handler, start to finish
The person who placed your cover is the person who answers when something happens, so nobody asks you to repeat the history of your business from the beginning.
Renewals reviewed, not rolled over
Before each renewal we re-check what changed in your exposures, take the risk back to the market, and report what moved in the wording, not only the premium.
Corporate programmes, not loose policies
For companies we design cover across property, liability, marine, fleet and staff benefits together, so the space between separate policies does not become an uninsured loss.
Licensed and supervised
We are licensed by the Insurance Regulatory Unit and work within 16 classes of business under its supervision, a status you can verify rather than a claim we make.
Your documents online
Policies, schedules, certificates and claim status sit in the client portal, ready for the moment a bank, a traffic department or a site engineer asks you for a copy.
